Ages 3-4

Ballet/Tap: This is a 45 minute class that introduces ballet and tap to preschoolers.  This class is designed to teach students basic dance vocabulary while using creativity through movement.  No previous dance experience is needed.  Ballet/Tap will perform both ballet and tap dances at Motivate’s recital.

Hip Hop: This 30 minute class is a great way to get your kids moving.  This style is performed with upbeat music and high energy.  If your child is interested in trying out dance for the first time and wants a less formal atmosphere, this is the class you’re looking for! No previous dance experience needed.  Hip Hop will perform one dance at Motivate’s recital.

Acro: This class introduces Acro-Dance to dancers. Acro combines techniques used in both dance and acrobatics.  Flexibility, contortion, balance, and tumbling skills are all incorporated into the structure of this dance class. Acro will perform one routine in Motivate's recital.


Ages 5-6

Ballet/Tap: This is a 45 minute beginner level ballet and tap class for preschoolers and kindergarteners.  This class is designed to continue teaching basic dance vocabulary while emphasizing ballet etiquette and strong tap sounds.  No previous dance experience is needed.  Ballet/Tap will perform both ballet and tap dances at Motivate’s recital.

Hip Hop: This style is performed with upbeat music and high energy.  This beginning level class teaches students how to coordinate strong movements with popular music.  If your child is interested in trying out dance for the first time and wants a less formal atmosphere, this is the class you’re looking for! No previous dance experience needed. Hip Hop will perform one dance at Motivate’s recital.

Ages 7-10

Ballet/Jazz: This is a beginning-intermediate ballet and jazz class. This class continues and extends ballet terminology and introduces jazz technique.  Students who take this class will learn two contrasting styles to become a more versatile dancer.  Ballet enforces classical etiquette and grace while jazz involves sharp movements danced to popular music. No previous dance experience is needed.  Ballet/Jazz will perform a ballet dance and a jazz dance at Motivate’s recital.

Hip Hop: This style is performed with upbeat music and high energy.  This beginning/intermediate level class teaches students how to coordinate strong movements with popular music.  If your child is interested in trying out dance for the first time and wants a less formal atmosphere, this is the class you’re looking for! Lyrical: This class introduces lyrical technique.  Lyrical combines ballet technique with popular music.  Lyrical is often described as a style that is performed to the lyrics of the music and has a soft, flowy quality.  This class is a great way to learn how to express emotions through dance.  No previous dance experience is needed, however it is recommended to also take Ballet/Jazz so students can further their understanding of the techniques used in this style.  Lyrical will perform one dance at Motivate’s recital.

Tap: Tap teaches students musicality and rhythm by learning to create a sequence of sounds with their own feet.  No previous dance experience is needed, however we recommend that this class is taken along with other classes to enhance students’ musicality skills in all dance styles. Tap will perform one dance at Motivate’s recital.

Musical Theatre: Fans of Broadway or Movie Musicals will love this class! Dancers will incorporate singing, acting, and dancing to show tune style music. No experience needed. Musical Theatre will perform one routine at Motivate’s recital.


Ages 11-18

(Options for both Beginner and Advanced Dancers)

Choreography: This class explores different methods and tools to create choreography. Dancers in this class must be enrolled in Ballet. Dancers will get to help choreograph and perform one routine for Motivate’s recital.

Musical Theatre: Fans of Broadway or Movie Musicals will love this class! Dancers will incorporate singing, acting, and dancing to show tune style music. No experience needed. Musical Theatre will perform one routine at Motivate’s recital.

Stretch and Conditioning: This is a class is designed to support and strengthen dancers so they can continue to improve their dancing in other styles. Dancers will focus on building stamina, control, and flexibility. This class will not perform a routine in Motivate’s recital.

Tap: In this class, students will continue to learn musicality and rhythm by creating a sequence of sounds with their own feet, along with using facial expressions.  No previous dance experience is needed, however we recommend that this class is taken along with other classes to enhance students’ musicality skills in all dance styles. Tap will perform one dance at Motivate’s recital.

Acro: Acro combines techniques used in both dance and acrobatics.  Flexibility, contortion, balance, and tumbling skills are all incorporated into the structure of this dance class. Acro will perform one routine in Motivate's recital.

No previous dance experience needed, however this class will be taught at a faster pace. Hip Hop will perform one dance at Motivate’s recital.

Pre-Pointe/Pointe: This is a class that continues ballet technique.  Dancers must receive permission from their ballet instructor before going “en Pointe”, but dancers that are interested in Pointe but are not quite ready can take the class in ballet shoes.  Pointe requires strength, proper knowledge of ballet terminology, and correct execution of ballet movement.  Dancers must take Ballet Technique to take this class. Pre-Pointe/Pointe will perform one dance at Motivate's recital.

 
 

 
 

Ballet: This is a 30 minute ballet class for Adults (18+) and occurs in 3, 6, or 8 week sessions. This class is designed for anyone interested in learning the basic technique and terminology associated with ballet.  Ballet is not only a beautiful art form, but it can also improve posture, stability, flexibility, coordination, and strength. There will be no recital for Adult Ballet, and no experience is necessary.

Tap: This is a 30 minute tap class for Adults (18+) and occurs in 3, 6, or 8 week sessions.  This class is designed for anyone interested in learning the basic technique and terminology associated with tap.  Tap is not only an entertaining dance style, but it can also improve rhythm, stability, stamina, coordination, and musicality. There will be no recital for Adult Tap, and no experience is necessary.

Hip Hop: This is a 30 minute hip hop class for Adults (18+) and occurs in 3, 6, or 8 week sessions.  This class is designed for anyone interested in learning basic Hip Hop steps and getting active.  Hip Hop is a fun and upbeat dance style, and it can also improve rhythm, stamina, coordination, and musicality. There will be no recital for Adult Hip Hop, and no experience is necessary.
