MDPT

The Motivate Dance competition team is better known as a performance team.  It is an opportunity for additional training and performances, and is available for all students ages 8 and up (or by invitation for those under 8).  Along with furthering students' dance technique and stage presence, members of this dedicated team participate in team-building activities, develop positive attitudes, learn time-management, and display outstanding sportsmanship. This opportunity provides dancers with a second family, helps teach leadership skills, and establishes how to work as a team.

Motivate Dance competition team members are committed to their training.  Dancers that are interested in joining will attend a placement class in June. This is where they will be assigned to competition numbers and placed in their companies and class levels.  They are also continue their training throughout the summer and are required to participate in our MDPT Boot Camp and rehearsals in August.  These students are required to take Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and Technique classes in their designated levels along with attending evening rehearsals.  Hip Hop, Tap, Acro, and Pointe are highly recommended for competition team members. Dancers are required to participate in 3 group dances, and additional groups, solos, duets, and trios are available as well.  The performance team will attend 3 competitions throughout the season and will perform both competition and class routines in Motivate Dance's annual recital. Motivate Dance Performance Team is made up of 3 companies: Performance Company, Advanced Company, and Elite Company.

Performance COMPANY

Performance Company is our lowest commitment company, great for younger dancers, newer dancers, or those who just want more performance opportunities outside of recital. These dancers compete in 3 competitions.

Advanced COMPANY

Advanced Company is our largest company. This company is designed for more experienced dancers who are progressing towards the Elite level. The compete in 3 competitions and 2 optional competitions. These dancers have the opportunity to have solos and are also a part of our Production routine.

Elite COMPANY

Elite Company is an audition based group of dancers. This group is for those who are dedicated to their training and are willing to fully commit to their team. Members have higher expectations in class, follow a stricter attendance policy, compete at more competitions, travel out of state for conventions, and have additional opportunities throughout the season. One year of competition team experience is required. Members of this team are passionate about dance and want to take their skills to the next level!
